Live Music – Lolo Gervais’s R&B Review

March 2, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Old-school R&B / Soul grooves of Aretha, Marvin Gaye, Tower of Power, Staple SIngers Al Green and more.

In a time of chronic media stimulation, Lolo & her band bring back the simpler times of being connected through great soulful grooves and ultra funky party beats from those early legends from New York to Detroit & Chicago, Memphis to LA and everywhere in between. Whether being called a blue-eyed soul singer or just a kick ass and heartfelt diva, the end result is the same with Lolo. Her voice & empowering female presence has entertained and inspired audiences for decades and she sings from deep within the music that she has loved since her first moments onstage.

Pulling off such classic material requires musicians who are up to the challenge of playing the pure sound of old-school soul. After years of performing on stages and in different genres everyone shares a deep sense of commitment to making this music come alive with all the beats, all the notes, and the sheer energy of what this music means. The band is made up with great & consummate players (and frequent extra special guests): Ray Sayre—guitar, Gary Regina— sax, Richard Jones—drums, Charlie Faber—bass.
